Life : The full body high definition mirror
A person’s energy can be likened to a road. Depending on the orientation of your energy, you will meet other people on that same road who share a similar sense of direction. As you continue your travels, some people may veer off on other off-ramps and highways, while others will stay with you. The greater your energy, the bigger the road; and as your energy diminishes, you may find yourself all alone on a pot-hole laden country lane. Accessing your energy so that you can travel on “the road” that offers you the best results in your personal and professional life takes discipline, and the right frame of mind.
As an example, many people complain about their inability to “find” love, but their very use of the term is misleading. Love, the most profound and rewarding form of energy, is always within us. To be “in love” is a matter of understanding how to access the energy that lies within us, and share it with others. Truly fulfilled and happy people understand that their energy allows them to thrive in the world, and make connections with other fulfilled and happy people. When two people share the same level of energy, they are naturally drawn to one another, and will share the same “road” together.
Fulfilled individuals do not allow any part of themselves to go to waste. Instead, they invest every part of their mind, body, and spirit into their lives. Their “roads” are brightly lit, spacious, and go everywhere. Unhappy people, on the other hand, have no access to their inner energy. Their “roads” are short, poorly maintained, and lead nowhere.
Learning how to access your own energy requires that you understand who you truly are, and accept your strengths and weaknesses. Once you are able to love yourself, you will discover that you are able to love others truly and deeply. Part of understanding who you are comes from getting an accurate view of your relative position in the world around you. Relationships, after all, are a measure of what we mean to others. What is your relationship to your job? Do you participate fully? What about your relationships with other people? Are you an active or passive participant? Take a look at the people around you. If you are sharing space with them, then you are all sharing similar energy. Is this where you should be? If so, congratulate yourself; if not, you are not accessing your true energy because you do not understand who you are.
People who understand who they are do what comes naturally. And everyone has a slightly different purpose. Once you embrace your true purpose, you will feel happy, fulfilled, and successful. Love will automatically come to you. A good way to visualize this is to imagine famous people doing things to which they are not suited. Imagine the poet Emily Dickinson as a tennis prodigy, or George Washington as a singer. Both Dickinson and Washington found their ideal calling, and would have looked ridiculous and been unhappy if they had been untrue to themselves and tried to pursue a path that went against their energy. Instead, they embraced their energy, and let it guide them to success.
Whether you possess the steadfast qualities of a bull, or the pensive qualities of a thinker, getting in tune with yourself is one of the most valuable experiences you will ever have. Learning to tap into your own energy will allow you to travel wherever you want to, and meet the people who will enrich your life. All this journey requires is that you understand and embrace who you are.
