t is not an unusual incident to encounter a familiar -or even unfamiliar- person on the astral plane, nor is it a rarity. In fact, the more we “awaken” to our higher selves and become connected to the outer worlds and cosmic spheres around us, the more we are likely to begin communicating, experiencing and doing things on the astral or etheric plane.But why do avid dreamers and meditators drift off to the astral plane in the first place and how do they end up meeting other people, beings and energy-forms?

The astral plane, as opposed to the physical plane of our 3rd dimensional world, is the unseen realm, the home of angelic beings as mystics would describe. There are very few yet essential indications that can aid you in realizing whether or not you are actually on the astral plane and whether your astral encounter is a real projection or simply part of your imagination. Here are some signs:

Have you ever dreamt of someone who has passed away and drawn vital advice from him/her? Do you ever meet up with friends during your etheric travels which seem or act in a different way, as if it is their soul that is present more than their daily, ego-driven behavior? What about a person you love or have loved in the past who seems to enjoy meeting you on the astral every now and then and displaying his/her feelings towards you? Meeting somebody in another plane simply means that your souls are either deeply connected or he/she has some kind of message to convey to you. If it seems extraordinary that you would have such a connection with your boss, your 16-year-old daughter’s best friend or the ex who recklessly left you, well then think again, as time or space is not relevant or substantial in the astral.
